Last month, we proudly sponsored a national inter-school cricket tournament hosted by the Nevis Sixth Form College to inspire pupils to lead healthy lifestyles and create change for themselves and their community through sport and physical activity.
Every primary school from across the Island of Nevis took part in a day full of fun, fours and sixes, with Charlestown Primary school crowned as winners. Our Senior VP Banking, Sonia Bowen-Tuckett was delighted to present the tournament-winning captain with the trophy and congratulated the team on their hard-earned victory.
From the outset of BONI’s formation, we have always placed community involvement high on our agenda. Part of that commitment is to give children a brighter future, and we believe that by promoting sports participation, we can make an impact that will stay with young people forever. Not only are the wins and losses memorable, but the life skills, connections between people, and experiences are unforgettable, too. By harnessing the power of sport we can improve young people’s mental and physical health, educational attainment and transferable skills development– contributing to their overall well-being and future prospects.
We look forward to continuing to build on our strong relationships with local community groups as we lead the drive for positive change within our small island communities.
