Last month, we had the pleasure of sponsoring the Friday Night Lights cricket match, bringing together the best of Nevis cricketing talent and future West Indian cricket stars from Leeward Islands Hurricanes and the West Indies U-19 cricket teams.
The event was organised by Oualie Sports Management, a sports management company run by Therele Wallace and Tyler Martin, two young Nevisians with a great passion for cricket, and a commitment to carefully nurturing and guiding young players to maximise their full sporting potential. Please watch out for them in the future!
The line-up included:
Carlon Bowen-Tuckett - West Indies U19 World Cup wicketkeeper/batsman (a future West Indian first team wicket keeper)
Jahmar Hamilton - Leeward Islands Hurricanes Captain and West Indies Wicketkeeper/Batsman
Ross Powell - Leeward Island Hurricanes Batsman
Colin Archibald - Leeward Island Hurricanes and West Indies President X1 Allrounder
Jerimiah Louis - Leeward Island Hurricanes and West Indies President XI Allrounder
Onaje Amory - West Indies U19 World Cup spinner
Despite the international nature of our business, supporting a broad range of organisations, events and people is core to our ethos of giving back to the communities in which we operate. Part of that commitment is to create pathways for young people to both express themselves and exceed their potential in their chosen fields.
We look forward to finding new ways to drive forward our commitment to supporting tomorrow’s sporting stars to leave a deep and lasting legacy for our small island communities - because tomorrow’s future begins today.
