BONI Proudly Sponsors Premiere of ‘Below the Belt’

BONI was proud to sponsor the premiere of ‘Below the Belt’ at the CUNA Conference Centre in St. Kitts on Monday, 22nd May 2023. This groundbreaking documentary sheds light on endometriosis and its impact on women's lives, and shares the inspiring stories of four patients urgently searching for answers to mysterious symptoms.

Endometriosis is a debilitating and often misunderstood condition that affects millions of women worldwide. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure and many women suffer in silence for years before receiving an accurate diagnosis. The impacts of endometriosis often go beyond the physical symptoms that it causes as it has significant effects on the financial, mental, and emotional health of those with this condition.

BONI recognises the importance of educating the public in St. Kitts & Nevis about endometriosis and is proud to support an event where individuals can learn more about this condition. Endometriosis is an issue that affects women of all ages and backgrounds, and BONI is dedicated to supporting the fight against it by raising awareness.

Abi Begho, Director at Lake Health and Wellbeing, expressed thanks for BONI’s support: “Your support plays a vital role in raising awareness of an important women's health issue, and we are truly appreciative. With your support, we aim to shed light on the challenges faced by women with chronic reproductive conditions and make a meaningful impact.”

Rachel Ritfeld, VP for Business Development, spoke to Good Morning SKN about BONI’s involvement: “We are thrilled to support this project that raises awareness and helps to remove the stigma associated with endometriosis. Everybody will know a women, or is a women, who deals with endometriosis – to not have the support or understand what they’re going through is terrible. That information should be accessible to everyone. Our sponsorship is an opportunity to show our commitment to women's health, and to support the fight against this condition by raising vital awareness.”

The premiere was followed by a panel discussion with key stakeholders to foster greater understanding and positive change related to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of endometriosis in St Kitts & Nevis.

BONI is proud to be a part of the fight against endometriosis and encourages others to join the initiative to raise awareness and help #BreakTheCycle of silence around endometriosis.
